First Look: Angels and Demons

Posted in Celebrity by ryedog on February 13, 2009

Here’s your first look at Angels and Demons, the sequel to the critically acclaimed The Da Vinci Code, which was adapted for the best-selling novel from author Dan Brown. Produced by Brian Grazer, who served as executive producer of the current season of 24, the film is sure to raise some eyebrows in the Catholic community, with its bold assertions that a centuries-long cover up is upholding traditional beliefs.

When director Ron Howard asked permission to shoot in a church in Rome during production last year, a Vatican spokesman had the following to say: “Usually we read the script but in this case it wasn’t necessary. Just the name Dan Brown was enough,” Marco Fibbi said. “Angels and Demons peddles a type of fantasy that damages our common religious beliefs, just like The Da Vinci Code did.”

The U.S. release date for the film is May 15, 2009.

Why I’m Single Every Feb. 14

Posted in Ladies, Romance by ryedog on February 13, 2009

Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year when naive girls the world over are swooned by guys whose lone goal is to compensate for being a douche for the other 364 days.

And, no, I’m not bitter.

I’ve walked the plank before, forking over copious amounts of bills in the name of nothing more than lust. The last time I celebrated Cupid’s Holiday, I spent $200 on braised beef, an overpriced bottle of wine, and chocolate-covered strawberries to find out my lady friend had swapped saliva with another guy two weeks later.

The build-up around V-Day has gotten so huge that even the most solid of couples have been ripped apart because the night didn’t feature the obligatory itinerary of dinner, chocolates, and anti-climactic sexual activity.

Everything is forced. So what’s the point?

If it will help you sleep better at night knowing you took the time to tar-and-feather your girl with cheap massage oil and brittle rose petals, by all means, do your thing.

I’ll be watching the game, planning for Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day.

Posted in Ladies by ryedog on February 13, 2009

Hillary FisherThe time is now, aspiring photographers. And if you wanna attract the big job with the top-class talent, you gotta have a plan:

  • Print up fake business cards
  • Piece together half-ass portfolio filled with graduation and family reunion pics
  • Spread thin layer of gravelly sand in back yard and create faux waterfall with garden hose and slip n’ slide
  • Place call to Hillary Fisher

Wait. Who?

Hillary Fisher: Top 10 candidate for Playboy’s Special Edition Model of the Year, Miss Hawaiian Tropic South Carolina 2007, Miss Budweiser Bikini Bash 2007, and the list goes on.

There’s only one problem, besides the whole not working with non-reputable picture-takers. She doesn’t do naked.

Dude, bummer…well, it’s not like you could have footed the bill anyway.

Erin Andrews Continues Playboy Dominance

Posted in College Football, Ladies by ryedog on February 13, 2009

Erin AndrewsBefore you run to Google and perform the tired “Erin Andrews nude” search, read on.

For the second time in as many years, the famed ESPN sideline sex symbol has been named Plaboy’s Sexiest Sportscaster of the Year. But by no means did Ms. Andrews run away from the pack like she did a year ago — with those looooong legs…

We’ve heard several darkhorses like Suzy Kolber, Michelle Tafoya, and Pam Oliver were beginning to close down the home stretch until their faces tripped them up.

Among those who posed the biggest threat to Erin’s maturing dynasty:
